Apple Recipes: Part 2

Time for Part 2 of our delicious apple recipes! I feel like this list could go on and on, but I'll just share a few more of my favorites.

I love how aromatic a hot, homemade cider is. It just fills up the house with the smell of the season. I'm planning to make a big batch for our Halloween party and I know it will be amazing! Next stop on the tour of fall cuisine: pumpkin!

Halloween Ideas: Spooky Bats and Cobwebs Four Ways

I love the effect of flying bats and big, spooky cobwebs for Halloween. Not to mention, they're fun and easy to create, and can be used in used in so many ways!

Totally Batty:
Cobwebs Four Ways:

I made the bats from Martha Stewart last year for Halloween, which I've kept for this year. I chose to simply cut the bats from black felt using the template and then hang them from the ceiling with fishing line from different heights. I attached some with fishing line directly from the center so the wings would hang down, and others I attached fishing lines to the center and either side of the wings to create variety and give the effect of bats in flight. Besides the cutting, which takes a bit of time, they were really easy, really inexpensive, and made a big statement! I can't wait to use them again!

Carnival-Inspired Celebrations

I love the child-like whimsy of a country fair or carnival theme. Bright colors, balloons, and pennant banners set the scene, while carnival cuisine in mini portions like french fries in paper cups or cotton candy, and even rides or attractions invite you to let loose.

{Real Party} Country Western Goes Vintage

Fall always gets me thinking of rustic, country style. I love how country western is interpreted for a little girl in this adorable Vintage Cowgirl Birthday. Mini horses, cowbells, pastel-patterned fabric, and even a wanted poster make for such a unique party. I imagine any girl with a love of horses would go crazy for this!

This Vintage Cowboy Baby Shower designed by Beth Helmsetter Events is definitely vintage country style at its best: daisies in mason jars, vintage cowboy books, bandanna decor, hay bales as seating, and BBQ and mini pies!

I imagine a lot of inspiration came from those vintage cowboy books!

Custom Inspiration Board: Retro Garden Party Wedding

Happy Labor Day! This one is a bit overdue, but I wanted to share this totally fun theme I created for a late-summer bride with a love of flamingos. She wasn't sure how to incorporate them into her wedding, but she loved the colors hot pink and green. So here's what I came up with:

This is definitely a theme that doesn't take itself seriously, but there are so many great elements! White wicker lawn furniture or garden architecture like the white trellis are great backdrops for such flashy colors. I loved the grass mats as a centerpiece idea with pink stargazer lilies and mini flamingos. Not only are the grass mats inexpensive, but they would be a great decor accent to bring the outdoors in. And how fun are those flamingo food picks?

I'm so excited that fall is unofficially here, and to be getting started on fall ideas, inspiration boards, and party features. Stay tuned!

Farewell to Summer: Dreamy Seaside Photo Shoot

As much as I embrace the warm colors and cool weather of fall, I'm always sorry to see summer go. In that spirit, I wanted to feature one last hoorah of this wonderful season from Style Me Pretty. Not to mention, it's one of the most lush, romantic wedding photo sessions I've ever seen! The soft, nautical color palette, the ethereal lighting, the furniture design - everything about this is truly eye-candy. Enjoy!
